Proverbs 3:9-10

Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Elder Tommy L. Chalk, Sr. was born on April 26, 1940. His parents Betty Mitchell and LeRoy Chalk, Sr., were given charge over seven children. Elder Chalk attended public schools in Big Sandy, Texas and beginning in 1957, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1963, he married the lovely Miss Mattie P. Hicks, and together they had the joy of raising nine children in their Garland, Texas home. One of the greatest events to occur in his life happened in 1971, when he received the gift of salvation under the leadership of Elder Alvin Reeves, Jr., at Greater Davis Chapel Church of God in Christ. Elder Chalk acknowledged his call to the ministry in 1975, and served faithfully under the leadership of Elder Whitley, Sr. at Victory Temple COGIC, as well as with Elder L. Whitley, Sr. at Power House Church of God in Christ. In 1992, Elder Chalk was again able to work close with Pastor Alvin Reeves, Jr. at Greater Davis Chapel Church of God in Christ and in November of 1997, he was appointed pastor of Greater Davis Chapel. If you are ever in search of Pastor Chalk, and know not where he might be found, look for him not among those who are content with mediocrity and fearful of labor. Among such as this will he not be found. A man seeketh not himself to please. A man who would dare to be, by the Man of Calvary.
